What the research found
Saying a word aloud, rather than reading it silently, makes it easier to remember later — the production effect.

How Word Gallery uses it
- You say the word from its first card. The app says the word, its meaning and an example — the word and the example in two different voices — then you say the word yourself.
- Every answer is spoken. In each turn from memory and each drill round you answer out loud, and the app listens.
- No «right» or «wrong». The app never says either; the colour under the microphone shows how it went.
- Not heard is not forgotten. If you spoke and the app did not catch it, the word is not marked as forgotten.
